Providers at Bosque Women's Care
Carrie Swartz, MD, FACOG
Dr. Carrie Swartz is a Board-Certified doctor in Obstetrics and Gynecology and a Fellow of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Dr. Swartz grew up in Kansas and went to the University of Colorado in Boulder where she earned her degrees in Chemistry and Biochemistry. She attended medical school at the University of Kansas School of Medicine. She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center. Before founding Bosque Women's Care, she was in private practice in Boulder, Colorado.
She specializes in endometriosis and fibroids. She is a Master Surgeon in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery but loves to help people find alternatives to surgery as well.
In her free time, she enjoys skiing and hiking with her husband and two boys.
Nicole joins us after many years working at Optum here in Albuquerque. Originally from Oklahoma, she has lived in New Mexico for almost 10 years. She provides full-scope women's health and loves working with adolescents and teens. She is also an expert in colposcopy and abnormal pap smears as well as pessary care for incontinence and prolapse. She also speaks Spanish (ella se habla espanol).
Elizabeth (who usually goes by Lisa!) Carlson is a certified nurse midwife and nurse practitioner who has devoted her career to the care of women. Lisa grew up in Minnesota and completed her Nurse Practitioner and Nurse Midwifery training here at UNM. Before joining Bosque Women's Care, Lisa cared for the women of Las Vegas, NM at Alumbra Women's Health and El Centro Family Health. She is on faculty with the UNM College of Nursing working with their NP students. Lisa has a particular interest in non-surgical management of prolapse (pessary care) and adolescent gynecology. She is an expert in the management of abnormal paps and colposcopies. We are grateful to her husband, two kids, and pug who share her with us!
Michelle Williams is a women's health nurse practitioner and a certified nurse midwife. She is originally from the east coast and attended graduate school at Georgetown University while living in Washington, D.C. As a nurse, Michelle worked in labor and delivery and as a lactation consultant. She cares passionately about reproductive healthcare and is specifically interested in LGBTQ+ health. Professionally, she is involved in Lamaze International, the American College of Nurse Midwives, and the New Mexico Breastfeeding Task Force. In her personal time, she enjoys having fun with her husband, baby, two bonus-kids, and her dog.
Maia is a native New Mexican, born and raised in Santa Fe. She has earned all 3 of her degrees from the University of New Mexico with a Master’s of Science in Community Health Education as well as Physician Assistant Studies. Maia has a background in health policy-writing in the Pueblo of Jemez, Gynecology/Oncology as well as General Surgery. She feels passionate about all Women in New Mexico having access to quality health care in a comfortable environment. She is particularly interested in primary prevention of health problems like cervical cancer by instilling the importance of routine gynecological care.
In her free time, she loves hanging with her Husband, Etan, her son Jordan, and doggy, Benji!
